John Young

Community Leader

A long-time public servant, John Young has held the positions of Jefferson Parish president, Jefferson Parish council chair and assistant district attorney.

Young’s civic involvement as a community leader is extensive. He has served as chair of the New Orleans Regional Planning Commission, president of the Jefferson Bar Association, executive board member of the Police Jury Association of Louisiana – Region II, chair of the Governor’s Vehicular Homicide – DWI Task Force, board member of the New Orleans Regional Chamber of Commerce where he served as vice chair of the Public Policy Committee, chair of the Governmental Affairs Committee of the East Jefferson Council Executive Committee, fellow at the Jefferson Chamber Leadership Institute and fellow at the Loyola University Institute of Politics.

Young has a Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law and is currently engaged in private practice and continues to serve his community.
